Russian dealers of Kia sold 6,336 cars in March, which is 68% less than in the same period a year earlier. According to the results of the first three months of 2022, 33,658 Kia cars were sold in Russia, which is 35% less than in the first quarter of last year.
Nevertheless, Kia retains leadership among foreign automakers in Russia, and the market share of the brand was 12.1% against 13.3% a year earlier. Rio remains the best-selling model: 2918 sedans and cross-hatchbacks of this model were sold last month (-64%). The second place in terms of sales in the Kia line was taken by the Sportage crossover, sales of which fell by 76% and amounted to 812 units. The third result was shown by the Seltos compact crossover – 597 cars (-62%).

In February, the Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad began production of the fifth-generation Kia Sportage crossover, whose premiere in Russia is expected in the second quarter of this year.
According to the latest data of the Association of European Businesses, the best-selling model in Russia in March was Lada Granta, sales of which decreased by 73% and amounted to 3,433 cars. Sales of Lada have almost tripled, and this is the most popular car brand in Russia.
The bestseller in the segment of crossovers and SUVs on the Russian market in March was the Lada Niva SUV. Even Chinese brands suffered, which, compared to other brands, have always been the best in terms of sales dynamics.
