In the back room, 65 mining devices and two Internet rioters were found. The security forces said that the equipment worked from the beginning of April to mid -May. Damage to power engineers is estimated at 2.34 million rubles.

According to the police, the connection of equipment for mining to the transformer substation bypassing metering devices was organized by a 47-year-old resident of the village of Kantyshevo. The man was detained. A criminal case has been instituted against him under an article on causing property damage by deception or abuse of trust (165 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

Representatives of the prosecutor’s office explained that on the territory of Ingushetia until March 15, 2031 there was a complete ban on cryptocurrency mining. The decision was made against the backdrop of a critical shortage of electricity in the region, the authorities say.
