A century has passed since the birth of Beppe Fenoglio and to celebrate the great writer and partisan who told about the Langhe and the Italian Resistance, a season of meetings, events, walks is about to begin, right in the land where he was born and loved. A rich and articulated program, entitled «Spring of Beauty“, like the third and last novel published in his lifetime by Beppe Fenoglio, which begins on March 1, the day he would have turned 100, obviously in his Alba.
The events in its Piazza Rossetti
To kick off the celebrations will be the “Cardiopulse secret”: an installation by the light artist Emilio Ferro which will conceptually evoke the neologism coined by Fenoglio himself to describe the secret movement of Alba, Zona Libera Partigiana from 10 October 1944 and for the following twenty-three days, starting from its legendary Olivetti Studio 44. Composed of four rays of light, the installation will be accompanied by a musical texture of Max Casacci, composer and producer of the Subsonica, who reproduced the sounds of Fenoglio’s typewriter and those of Piazza Rossetti. This is where the work will be placed, right in front of the Beppe Fenoglio Study Center who still today – in addition to an exhibition dedicated to the Langhe – keeps the room that was part of his home and where he composed his works, with his personal objects, original photographs by Aldo Agnelli and writings that offer the opportunity to know better life, as well as the literary commitment of this writer who lived just forty years and considered one of the greatest of the twentieth century.
