The group of companies “Information Technologies and Solutions” (“ITR”) conducted demonstration tests of countermeasures for unmanned aerial vehicles. The tests took place at the training ground in the Leningrad region. At the same time, the situational center was located in the airfield building, and the Chameleon optical detection system and Strizh-3 automatic detection and suppression systems were deployed in the field. In addition, the work of the Harpoon-3 radio-electronic gun was shown, the task of which is to point the impact on the drone.
The Chameleon optical detection system is capable of detecting objects from 30 cm in size at a distance of up to 1000 m. The Strizh-3 system is able to automatically detect drones at a distance of up to 2500 m and suppress them at a distance of up to 2000 m. It forms a protective “dome” blocking any number of drones at the same time.
As for the aforementioned Harpoon-3 radio-electronic gun, being aimed at a drone, it suppresses its communication and navigation channels, as a result of which the device makes an emergency landing. The gun is designed for use in conjunction with the Nightingale drone detection system, which, when a drone is detected, transmits a signal with information about its location to the operator.
Three drones took part in the tests, which differed in size and used frequencies. The devices were detected by the systems, after which their image was displayed on the screen of the situation center. At the next step, in automatic or manual mode, a decision was made to suppress the drone by blocking its control system or navigation system. In the first case, the drone returns to the operator, in the second case, it lands smoothly at the place where communication with the control panel is lost.
The complexes included in the demonstration tests, shortly before that, were presented at the international exhibition of advanced technologies for ensuring the security of the individual, society and the state “Expotechnostrazh” at the Expoforum Convention and Exhibition Center, where they aroused considerable interest, including from representatives of law enforcement agencies.
