According to the official, in the northern regions of the country there remained unused network capacities, the maintenance of which needs significant funds:
“There is a small amount of free network power, primarily in the north. There is a question there: either to withdraw these capacities, but this is not always possible, or they will stand, and we will spend money on their operation. That’s just there you can think something with miners, put them there and consider the possibility of a network tariff. But this is not a benefit as such, but another principle of tariff formation. ”
Grabchak said that the Ministry of Energy, along with industry representatives, discuss the issue of connecting equipment to outdated electric grid centers that previously served oil factory. These objects can be used if cryptocurrency mining begins to bring the real benefit of the national energy system and the economy as a whole, the representative of the Ministry of Energy said.
Earlier, Evgeny Grabchak said that the authorities plan to include Russian miners in the so -called fourth category of reliability for electricity consumers. That is, at any time miners can be disconnected from the energy network.
