Former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, PT’s pre-candidate in this year’s elections, again criticized privatizations this Thursday (16). “Those businessmen who are buying public companies at a bargain price, get ready because I’m going to call them to talk about the issue of privatization”, said the PT member during a speech in Natal.
Eletrobras was privatized with the capitalization of the company’s shares. With that, it no longer has a controller defined.
The Ministers of Economy and Mines and Energy, Paulo Guedes and Adolfo Sachsida, are in favor of privatizing Petrobras, but there is no set deadline for the sale of the company.
Lula attributed the rise in fuel prices to the parity policy adopted by Petrobras, which means that values are linked to international quotations.
“We are going to bring the prices of gasoline, diesel oil and gas back into Brazil in this country,” said the pre-candidate.
He that President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) tries, however, to blame the governors for the high prices due to ICMS, a state tax.
“The ICMS is really high, it has to be lowered. But you can’t blame that gasoline went up because of ICMS.”
