In the premiere, “Olhares Brasileiros, with Abilio Diniz” welcomes Kondzilla; watch

This Sunday (22), with the presence of producer and entrepreneur Kondzilla, the program “Olhares Brasileiros, with Abilio Diniz”. The attraction is part of the CNN Soft line and will be available for viewing on the channels CNN Brazil and CNN Brasil Soft on Youtube.

In the conversation with Abilio Diniz, Kondzilla spoke about the role of funk in popular culture –especially in the periphery areas– and about the social difficulties faced in Brazil. Despite being the protagonist of social discussions, Kond, as he likes to be called, said he had no interest in participating in party politics.

Kondzilla stated that his greatest pride in Brazil is “the ability to [do povo brasileiro] to reinvent itself in all these adverse conditions that we live today”.

The cultural producer highlighted the role of the internet in the propagation and democratization of popular culture. “With the internet, we have the opportunity to distribute our content the way we like to produce it. And there’s a very important detail: the public can also choose what to watch. If you take the major video or music platforms, the main content that is consumed in a territory is regional,” he said.

In addition to Kondzilla, the first season of “Olhares Brasileiros, with Abilio Diniz” will feature other relevant names from different segments, such as Gilberto Gil, Nizan Guanaes, Rita Lobo, Jorge Paulo Lemann, Kondzilla, Camila Farani, Rubens Ometto and Father Fabio de Melo.

Abilio Diniz is 85 years old and is chairman of the Board of Directors of Península Participações, his family’s investment company. Abilio is also a member of the Boards of Directors of Carrefour Global and Carrefour Brasil. Between 2013 and 2018, Abilio was chairman of the Board of Directors of BRF, one of the largest exporters of animal protein in the world.

The never-before-seen episodes of “Olhares Brasileiros, with Abilio Diniz” will be shown on Sundays at 9 pm, with a replay on Saturdays at 2 pm.
