The Republican leader of the state and his wife Melania are expected just a week after the disaster, unfolding on the day of the US National Feast, and there are still over 170 missing. The central part of Texas, a vast state of the American South, was hit by July 4th of torrential rains and sudden floods that have seized many residents in their sleep. Until yesterday, at least 120 deaths were recorded due to the disaster. Ker County is the one who suffered the heaviest blow, with 96 dead, including 36 children.
