At the same time, for autonomous cars, of course, a number of restrictions will be introduced so that at first they do not create an accident and do not interfere with other road users. For example, the Ministry will allow drivers on autopilot to drive only in one lane, and even with a speed limit of 60 km / h – it is forbidden to move faster on autopilot. Most likely, such a low speed of movement is due to the fact that in a critical situation the driver will need to react in time by returning his hands to the steering wheel and making a decision. Naturally, making a decision at high speed is much more difficult.

The fact is that representatives of the UK Department of Transport did not provide a complete list of vehicles that can receive the appropriate certificate. Moreover, the government of the country has not yet submitted a complete list of requirements, based on which the degree of advancement of the autopilot will be determined – some cars can drive themselves, while others can only stay in the lane and nothing more.
