In the US Senate, Biden’s Fed nominees defend a strong fight against inflation

The frontal fight against the rise in price indices in the United States was the biggest message of the opening speeches at the participation in the Senate in Washington of the three nominated by the US President, Joe Biden, for positions in the Federal Reserve (Fed, the North central bank -American).

“Fighting inflation must be the Fed’s top priority,” said Sarah Bloom Raskin, appointed to the position of vice president for oversight.

“Inflation is a major threat and I am committed to keeping inflation expectations well-anchored,” said Lisa DeNell Cook.

“The Fed must ensure that inflation falls to levels consistent with its objectives,” said Philip Nathan Jefferson.

He also pointed out that the country’s long-term prosperity requires that the monetary authority in the US must act to ensure the soundness of the financial system.
