“Half of the de-lignification took place in the region of Western Macedonia without European aid and without a single euro falling in the region. He criticized the actions of the previous government, saying that he had put the project in the previous financial program, something that is relatively easy to do, but he had not proceeded to the difficult parts of joining the NSRF, with the result “when I took over “The Ministry of Development was confronted with the request of the EU, which wanted the exclusion of many gas projects and of western Macedonia managed by DEDA, on the grounds that no auction had taken place.”

Mr. Georgiadis stated that “Greece, for several months now, is in the first place, with a difference from the second in the absorption of European resources” while the EU winter forecasts “rank it in the second in growth in Europe”. As a sign of strengthening this image of the economy, he mentioned the news of the reopening of the aluminum profile factory “Alumyl” in Xanthi, which had suspended its operation in 2014. “This shows something for the development of the country,” he noted.

Referring to the protest of the farmers outside the building of the counter-region of Kastoria, he stated that “not everything is rosy in Greece”, spoke about the energy prices and the inflation that affect the income of the citizens, pointing out that “this is not only a Greek phenomenon” . He added, however, that “we will do what we have to do and what can be done, so that no one is left behind.”

Referring to the official opposition leader, he stressed that “today I heard Tsipras ask for the write-off of the private debt, so will they go ahead? We will only go ahead with projects like the one we are launching today in Kastoria, the start of gas distribution projects which as he stated “will be completed by 2023”.

Deputy Minister of Development Nikos Papathanasis, addressing the mayors of their region, assured that “all of western Macedonia is included in the territorial plans of the fair transition” and therefore companies that will be interested in installing their investments, will be able to choose all cities. of western Macedonia. He reiterated that “the specialization of NSRF 2021-27 will be completed in April, when immediately after that the companies will be able to submit their plans”.

The CEO of DEDA, Marios Tsakas, announced that in the autumn of 2022 DESFA will complete the construction works at the exit of the TAP pipeline in Poria and “immediately after we will be able to make the first natural gas connections in Kastoria and Argos Orestiko”. He made special reference to the benefits that will arise in the local economy and in the local professions from the entry of natural gas in daily use and announced that “DEDA will proceed in western Macedonia in a special training program for engineers and technicians such as hydraulic electricians, etc. in technology natural gas”.

The event was addressed by the MP of Kastoria, Zisis Tzikalagias, the general secretary of Energy and Mineral Resources, Alexandra Sdoukou, the governor of Western Macedonia, George Kasdis, George Kasidis, the mayor Giankos Kastikos Grevena George Dastamanis.

The gas projects in Kastoria concern a network of 80 km, in Argos Orestiko 41 km, and in Grevena 36 km. The connections foreseen in the network are 7000, with a total project budget of 18 million euros.
