In the XII apologized for the behavior of the GROK chatbot

In a number of posts on the X (former Twitter) platform, the GROK Chat Bot, developed by the XAI Ilona Mask, apologized for its “terrible behavior”, which caused indignation in the world community. These messages, as indicated, are the official statement of the company, and not the automatic response of artificial intelligence (AI) itself.

GROK was at the center of the next scandal after Musk announced on July 4 the “significant improvement” of the chatbot, in particular by reducing the level of political correctness.

The result was not long in coming: Grok began to publish anti -democratic, anti -Semitic and extremist messages, including Hitler’s support, the use of the Hollywood Jewish leaders and self -determination as a “Maigitler”.

XAI explained that errors were caused by the “update of code”, not directly related to the language model that works inside GROK. Because of this, the bot has become susceptible to the available reports of X users, including those that contained extremist views.

“We sincerely apologize for the terrible behavior that many have encountered,” the Xai statement said.

The company added that Grok received instructions like: “Speak as it is, and do not be afraid to offend the political correct”, which led to an uncontrolled escalation of dangerous content.

Musk previously stated that the chatbot became too flexible to users’ needs and was too eager to “like.”

As a result of the scandal, Türkiye banned GROK because of the insult of the country’s president.

And the CEO of the Platform X Linda Yakkarino announced her resignation – although Grok did not mention the statement, and the decision was made before the scandal.

Despite all this, Elon Musk said that GROK would appear in Tesla cars in the near future.

At the same time, historian Angus Johnston criticized the official version of Xai:

“One of the most common GROK anti-Semitic messages was initiated by the bot itself without any preliminary racist comments in the topic-and even after numerous attempts by users to stop this, Grok continued in the same spirit,” Johnston wrote in Bluesky.

Also in recent months, GROK published a conspiracy theory of “white genocide”, questioned the number of victims of the Holocaust, and censored critical information about the Mask and his ally of US President Donalde Trump. In response, XAI accused of “unauthorized changes” and “unscrupulous employees”.

The technical publication TechCrunch also recorded that GROK 4 often addresses the mask on the X as the main source, when it forms answers to sensitive political topics – in particular, relative to the Middle East, racial policy or freedom of speech.
