Former President Donald Trump graces the new cover of Time magazine released this Wednesday (11), after the Republican’s ABC News presidential debate against Vice President Kamala Harris.
The clash, which pitted the two candidates against each other for the first time, was marked by the Democratic candidate’s pressure on Trump. A survey by CNN pointed out that, for 63% of voters who watched the debate, Kamala won.
Wednesday’s Time magazine features an illustration showing the former president in a golf cart trying to get out of a sandbar. “In trouble,” the cover reads, which accompanies a story titled: “How Kamala Harris Knocked Donald Trump Off Course.”
“In what may be their only debate before Election Day, the high-stakes showdown between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris highlighted how dramatically the presidential race has changed since mid-summer,” Time reports.
“As clear as it is that Trump would still like to be running against Biden, it is equally clear that Harris has shaken him up,” the magazine adds.
The illustrator responsible for the cover, Tim O’Brien, also commented on the work: “Capes are like shooting an arrow into a strong wind. You have to aim the arrow into the wind, thinking about how the wind will shift and push and if you’re lucky and things line up, the arrow will land.”
