In two actions, fugitives for the death of former companions are arrested in RJ

A man sentenced to 21 years in prison for the double homicide of his ex-wife in 1999 was arrested in Copacabana, in the south zone of Rio de Janeiro.

According to the Civil Police, at the time, the accused saw the woman riding on the back of a motorcycle, with another man, and became jealous. After an argument at the door of the house, he shot her, who had a 4-year-old child. He confessed to the crime and was arrested in 2019.

On Wednesday (27), a 58-year-old woman was arrested by the Federal Police, in an action supported by the Civil Police and PM, after being on the run for 18 years for the qualified homicide of her ex-husband. According to investigations, she had the victim killed in 2001, with the intention of receiving life insurance.

After collecting intelligence and monitoring data, the police located and captured the fugitive in the municipality of Búzios, in the Lagos Region, where the woman had fled after her conviction.

After serving the arrest warrant, issued by the Court of Justice of the State of Rio de Janeiro, the prisoner was taken to the Cabo Frio Police Station (126th DP), where she will remain detained for the adoption of legal measures and at the disposal of the Justice.
