Ukrainian police said they had uncovered a group of hackers that attacked foreign companies and universities with ransomware between 2019 and 2021.
Six hackers attacked the servers of US and South Korean companies, threatening to disclose sensitive data if the victims did not pay, according to a police statement.
According to police, the total damage was $ 500 million.



The attorney general’s office says a total of 24 searches have been carried out in the homes and cars of the alleged hackers. At the same time, computers, eight cars, about 58,000 dollars, 3,000 euros, more than 1.5 million hryvnias and documentation proving illegal activities were seized.
It is not reported whether any of the suspects have been detained.
