Interesting discoveries continue to accumulate on the web regarding Microsoft’s next operating system. Judging by the new data, Windows 11 PCs can be woken up with a simple touch of the touch screen, rather than reaching out for the power button every time.

The new feature is called Wake on Touch, which was previously implemented in smartphones based on the Windows Phone mobile platform. Now this setting will appear in Windows 11 as well.
While this feature does not yet work in a pre-leaked Windows 11 pre-build, it has been found in system files. The found “evidence” shows that the user will be able to wake up the device by tapping the screen several times. The feature may not be available for all devices and will debut with the Surface Pro 8 line in October.
The official debut of Windows 11 is set to take place at an event scheduled by Microsoft on June 24, 2021.
