The WHO returned to talk about the new variant of the coronavirus this Friday (3). According to the organization, Ômicron is very transmissible, but people should not panic.
Rent inequality
In 2020, the white population had a family income 73% higher than that of people declared to be black or brown in Brazil. The data are from the survey of synthesis of social indicators carried out by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).
The survey also reveals that the white working population had an average monthly income of R$3,000, while black and brown people received an average of R$1,300 per month.
Book Biennial
The Rio de Janeiro Book Biennial, the country’s largest cultural event, starts this Friday. About 400,000 people are expected to attend the festival, which runs until December 12th.
Fall in industrial production
Industrial production in Brazil fell 0.6% in October. The data were released today by IBGE. Market expectations were for growth of 0.6%, the opposite of what happened.
In the year, the sector accumulates high of 5.7%.
Stock market crash
The Brazilian stock exchange had the second worst performance among 79 countries this year, according to a survey by consultancy Austin Rating. The Ibovespa dropped 14.41% considering the variation between December 2020 and November 2021.
The country is only behind Venezuela, which fell 99.52%.
