The new electricity and gas subsidies for March and April are expected to be announced by the government next week. The total amount of aid is expected to be significantly increased compared to the previous one and is estimated to exceed 700 million euros. The government’s goal is to reduce the impact of the sharp rise in gas and electricity prices.

More specifically for the month of March, the subsidy is expected to remain at the same level as in February at 350 million euros as the wholesale price of electricity closed last month at 221.71 million euros, ie lower than 235 euros / MWh. January. The average monthly subsidy for household electricity consumers is set at 40 euros. Respectively, the subsidy for businesses is projected to remain almost unchanged at 65 euros / MWh.

As far as the Apirli bills are concerned, as the wholesale price of electricity appears to have increased significantly, the same is expected to happen with the amount of the subsidy. It is noted that in the first ten days of March, the average wholesale price of electricity exceeds 322 euros / MWh and is 50% higher compared to February. This means that the monthly subsidy can even exceed 50 euros. Respectively for non-household consumers the subsidy is expected to be significantly higher than 65 euros / MWh.

Finally, regarding the natural gas for the month of Marito, the state subsidy will be 20 euros per thermal MWh for all households and for the total monthly consumption, while the DEPA Trade discount will remain the same. For non-household customers the subsidy will also be at 20 euros per thermal MWh.
