Incredible! Man opened a store without a manager because he trusts that customers will pay

It is becoming more and more common to see that self-service stores really become a self-service, that is, you take things yourself, collect them, pay for them and pack them. Proof of this are Amazon supermarkets, available in few parts of the world.

Based on this idea, Verginio Moretti, a man originally from Brazil, opened a small shop in his town, where people take care of themselves and leave their money in the cash register. This has been a complete success and more than one person is already committed to replicating it.

Verginio Moretti has been harvesting fruits and vegetables for more than 20 years and, at the same time, runs a small store where he sells his crops. But, due to the pandemic, his work multiplied due to the high demand for unprocessed foods and this prevented him from being in both places at the same time.

The outlook was complicated, Verginio did not want to close his store, but he could not stop harvesting or pay an extra employee. He then remembered the so-called Amazon stores, which do not have cashiers or parcel employees, but rather people serve, collect and pack their purchases themselves. So he decided to replicate the idea in his small business.

Sometimes the store was closed, with no one to turn to, and since hiring an employee is very costly, I decided to open without an assistant. In my travels, I’ve seen stores like this work, and I’ve always wanted to open one like this.

Store; Man opened a store that has no supervisors, trusts that customers will pay him

Starting his idea involved a great risk, because he knew that there was the possibility that people would come to his place and take the food without paying a single penny or that they could take the money that was in the box and that honest people they had paid.

Still, he decided to trust people and, surprisingly, people began to take care of themselves and pay for the merchandise accordingly. This showed Verginio and society in general that it is possible to trust others, that values still exist and that everything is possible with the help of others.
