Huami, a well-known contract manufacturer of Xiaomi Mi Band fitness bracelets, is preparing to release a new smartwatch model under its own brand Amazfit – an improved version of last year’s unkillable smartwatch Amazfit T-Rex (review). At the end of January, Amazfit T-Rex Pro began to undergo certification with the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Now, 91Mobiles has shared images and characterizations from renowned Indian informant Sudhanshu Ambhore.
According to the source, Amazfit T-Rex Pro received a design similar to last year’s Amazfit T-Rex with an increased level of security. The new watch boasts a 1.3-inch AMOLED screen, 10ATM water resistance, BioTracker 2 PPG optical sensor for heart rate tracking, Bluetooth 5.0 BLE, built-in GPS with GLONASS, BeiDuo and Galileo, 3-axis acceleration sensor, 3-axis gyroscope, geomagnetic sensor, ambient light sensor and altimeter.
The built-in battery has a capacity of 390 mAh. The battery life in “normal” use mode reaches 18 days. The dimensions are 47.7 x 47.7 x 13.5 mm, the watch with a strap weighs 59.4 g. Also, the new RTOS operating system (Amazfit T-Rex uses the proprietary AmazfitOS) and new color options.
The watch will be sold in three versions – black, green and gray. The release is expected in the near future. The price has not yet been announced.
