Index of positive tests for Covid-19 grows in April, points out Abrafarma

A survey by the Brazilian Association of Pharmacy and Drugstore Chains (Abrafarma) points out that, in the first two weeks of April, the number of rapid tests whose results were positive for Covid-19 reached 11,904, which corresponds to 9.31%. of the total number of calls.

By way of comparison, in the last week of March the rate was 7.28%, the lowest in four months. The numbers consider tests carried out in pharmacies associated with Abrafarma.

Since implementing the service two years ago, the companies have performed 16,996,924 rapid tests. Of these, 3,863,727 were positive, that is, 23%.

This Wednesday (27), Brazil recorded 245 more deaths due to Covid, according to data from the National Council of Health Secretaries (Conass). In 24 hours, 20,943 new cases were recorded.

Due to the downward trend in numbers, especially hospitalizations and deaths, states and municipalities are easing restrictive measures. The Ministry of Health even decreed the end of the state of emergency caused by the disease.

Abrafarma’s CEO, Sérgio Mena Barreto, apprehends the measure. “Digital prescriptions, telehealth programs and home delivery of controlled products represent undeniable advances in stimulating access and adherence to treatments. We wait for new regulations to emerge to preserve these achievements,” he points out.
