India: 26 million coronavirus cases exceeded – 291,000 dead

The limit of 26 million has been exceeded in India cases of SARS-CoV. -2. According to data released by the federal Ministry of Health, more than 291,000 people are dead.

In the past 24 hours, 291,331 laboratory cases have been confirmed, with a total of 26.03 million, while another 4,209 patients have died, with the death toll from the pandemic reaching 291,331 dead, according to ministry figures.

It is the second day in a row that the number of people infected has risen, but has remained below the 300,000 mark.

The giant state of Asia records in absolute terms the third heaviest pandemic in the world, behind the US and Brazil, and the second highest number of cases, after the USA. In proportion to its population India (1.3 billion), however, epidemiological data do not look as bad.

Although some Indian officials have expressed hope in recent days that the situation is stabilizing, experts say they consider the official figures unreliable. As they explain, not enough tests are done in the provinces, where the new coronavirus is spreading rapidly and where the health system is not able to cope with the crisis, reports the APE-MPE, citing Reuters.
