India’s National Research Service announced today that it is conducting a criminal investigation against Anil Abani and other persons, following a lawsuit filed by the country’s largest bank, accusing them of fraud. Anil Abani, his younger brother Moukas Abani, the richest man of Asia, has business interests in various areas, from energy to defender. The State Bank of India (SBI) argues that Anel and the telecommunications company Reliance Communications made “false statements” and “scams” to achieve credit facilities and then “owned” bank funds by executing transactions that were not in accordance with their loan terms. This company has now declared bankruptcy and its management has been undertaken by an insolvency administrator.
