India x Pakistan: Which country has the greatest military power?

An attack on tourists in the Indian Caxemira, which killed 26 people, triggered new tensions between India and Pakistan and generated fears of a conflict, with Pakistan claiming to have intelligence information suggesting that India intends to launch military action.

Military

India has 1.4 million active military personnel in their defense forces – 1,237,000 in the army, 75,500 in the Navy, 149,900 in the Air Force and 13,350 in the Coast Guard.

Pakistan’s strength is smaller, with less than 700,000 military personnel, of which 560,000 are in the army, 70,000 in the Air Force and 30,000 in the Navy.

Terrestrial arsenal

The Arsenal of India includes 9,743 artillery pieces, against 4,619 of Pakistan, and 3,740 main battle tanks compared to Pakistan’s 2,537.

Air force

While India has 730 combat aircraft, Pakistan’s fleet is much smaller, with 452 aircraft.

Navy

The Navy of India has 16 submarines, 11 Freemakers, 16 frigates and two aircraft carriers, while the Pakistan Navy has eight submarines and 10 frigates.

Nuclear arsenal

India has 172 ogives and Pakistan has an almost equal number with 170.
