Indian Institute of Technology to Open Blockchain, NFT and Web3 Courses

The Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) will partner with online learning platform TimesPro to create educational programs on blockchain, cryptocurrencies, NFT and Web3.

TimesPro chief executive Anish Srikrishna said the platform is interested in creating next-generation courses. They will focus on distributed ledger technology (DLT), non-fungible tokens (NFTs), the metaverse, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence (AI), big data, cloud computing and digital assets in general. To do this, the platform collaborates with leading educational institutions, including IITs. The partners of the new courses will be industry organizations India Blockchain Alliance (IBA) and iHub Divyasampark.

At the end of the course, students will be issued certificates confirming their knowledge. They will also have the opportunity to communicate with participants in the cryptocurrency industry. Srikrishna added that this initiative will help thousands of Indian citizens to master innovative professions. This will help create new jobs in India, without the need to attract foreign specialists.

It should be noted that in 2020, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Kolkata, together with the TalentSpirit platform, also launched a training program in the field of blockchain and financial management. In August, a group of blockchain specialists announced the creation of the India Blockchain Forum (IBF) to make India an international hub for blockchain and Web3 development, despite the tightening of crypto regulation in the country. A few years ago, the Indian Institute for Development and Research in Banking Technology (IDRBT) presented a plan for the mass adoption of blockchain in the banking sector.
