Analyst firm IDC predicts that India’s software market will reach $ 7.6 billion by the end of this year. Last year, it amounted to $ 7.0 billion, an increase of 13.4% compared to 2019. India accounts for 17.5% of software sales in the Asia-Pacific region (excluding Japan and China). The market leaders are Microsoft, Oracle and SAP.
Noting that the pandemic has had little impact on the overall growth of the software market in India, but has catalyzed strong growth in some of the digitalization-related segments, analysts identify three main market segments: applications, application development and deployment (AD&D), and system infrastructure software. (SI). Apps accounted for 60.4% of total revenue in 2020, AD&D – 21.6%, SI – 18.0%.
