Former US President Donald Trump was formally charged with a crime in connection with the episode involving an alleged payment of bribes to a pornographic film actress. The decision was made by a grand jury in Manhattan, New York, according to sources.

No other US president, whether in office or not, has ever faced criminal charges in history.
