A group of 20 Pataxó indigenous people held a demonstration at km 548 of the BR-101-RJ, also known as Rio-Santos, this Monday (9).

The Municipality of Paraty sent representatives to the site to try to respond to the claims, and said in a statement that it had created a “commission to negotiate with the indigenous people and make it possible, together with the bus company, to transport students from the village within the municipality’s area of competence”.
A video taken by CNN it also shows that a truck had its windows broken by a woman who appeared to be part of the demonstration. Paraty City Hall has not yet responded about damage to vehicles that were on site at the time of the protest.
