Indigenous woman is titled with thesis written in Nahuatl and honors her roots

Dina Adriana Cardoso Salvador, an indigenous woman of Mexican origin, demonstrated that nothing is impossible when she graduated with a degree in Primary Education for the Indigenous Environment from the National Pedagogical University (UPN), presenting a thesis in Nahuatl, her native language.

The news was shared through the official page of the UPN and this publication did not take long to go viral and receive hundreds of positive comments, since Diana has marked a before and after in the history of education, making visible the importance and recognition of indigenous languages.

The thesis presented by Diana is titled Iljuitl, ze’tlamachiliztle tlin ika niktzontekontlaliz notekio iwan ijkon niktlakaitaz niman okzejpa nikyoltiliz nonantlajtol nahuatland translates as The celebration, a learning proposal to value and revitalize the Nahuatl language.

In her thesis, the now graduate in pedagogy presented various learning proposals that could contribute to the reintegration of the Nahuatl language into society.

Diana showed up for her exam wearing typical clothes and making her entire community proud.
