Industrial entrepreneur confidence goes to highest level since October 2021, says CNI

vThe Industrial Entrepreneurs Confidence Index (ICEI) rose 1.3 points in June, from 56.5 points to 57.8 points. The indicator was released this Friday (10th) by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI) and shows an advance of optimism in relation to the previous month.

The index reached in the month also places confidence in the industrial sector at the highest level since October 2021. The ICEI ranges from zero to 100 points, with the 50-point line separating confidence from lack of confidence.

The CNI highlights that all ICEI components rose in June. The Index that measures confidence in relation to current conditions increased 2.1 points, from 49.4 points to 51.5 points.

“By exceeding the 50-point cutoff, the index demonstrates a transition from a negative perception to a positive perception of the industrial sector in relation to current conditions in comparison with the last six months”, says the entity.

The Expectations Index rose one point, to 61 points, indicating greater optimism in the industry for the next six months.

“We also measured the perception of the entrepreneur in relation to the economy and in relation to the company itself. There is still distrust about the economy in the short term, even though the index has risen, it was below 50 points in this specific aspect. The assessment of the company’s current conditions became more positive. They also show confidence in the economy in the next six months”, explains the manager of Economic Analysis at CNI, Marcelo Azevedo.

The indicator that measures industrial entrepreneurs’ confidence in relation to the current conditions of the Brazilian economy rose from 45.8 points to 48.9 points, still below the 50-point line. But, on the other hand, the assessment of the company’s current conditions became more positive, going from 51.1 points to 52.8 points.

The survey was carried out between June 1st and 7th, with 1,573 companies.
