The Industrial Entrepreneur Confidence Index (ICEI) recorded an advance of two points in August 2022, reaching 59.8 points.
The result represents the highest level of the ICEI since August last year, when the index reached 63.2 points. In July, the record was 57.8 points.
The data were released this Wednesday (10) by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI). For the entity, the rise in the indicator is a reflection of the improved perception and expectations of the business community in relation to the Brazilian economy.
“The factors that most influenced this rise in industrial business confidence in August were the consistent economic recovery in recent months and the exemption of items that affect production, such as fuel and energy”, says Larissa Nocko, economist at CNI.
The survey also points out that the industry remains confident, as the ICEI remains above the 50-point dividing line, which separates confidence from lack of confidence. The index ranges from 0 to 100 points.
The Current Conditions Index advanced 3.1 points and stood at 54.2 points. The confederation assesses that, when moving further above the 50-point dividing line, the indicator shows that the entrepreneur perceives a stronger and more widespread improvement in current conditions compared to the last six months.
Another component of the ICEI, the Expectations Index also rose, registering a rise of 1.5 points to 62.6 points.
