Industrial production drops in 6 out of 15 places checked in November, says IBGE

Industrial production fell in six of the 15 locations surveyed in November compared to October, according to data from the Monthly Industrial Survey – Regional Physical Production, released this Friday (13) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).

In São Paulo, the largest industrial park in the country, there was a rise of 3.1%. The other expansions took place in Paraná (8.5%), Espírito Santo (7.6%), Ceará (4.3%), Mato Grosso (3.8%), Bahia (3.5%), Minas Gerais ( 2.2%), Santa Catarina (0.3%) and Amazonas (0.1%).

In the opposite direction, there were decreases in Pará (-5.2%), Pernambuco (-2.0%), Rio Grande do Sul (-1.3%), Northeast Region (-1.3%), Rio de Janeiro (-0.9%) and Goiás (-0.3%).

In the global average, the national industry fell 0.1% in November compared to October.

Industrial production rose in five of the 15 locations surveyed in November 2022 compared to November 2021. In São Paulo, the country’s largest industrial park, there was an increase of 7.3%. The other expansions took place in Rio de Janeiro (6.0%), Minas Gerais (4.7%), Goiás (4.2%) and Amazonas (1.8%).

In the opposite direction, there were decreases in Pará (-16.5%), Espírito Santo (-12.2%), Paraná (-9.8%), Northeast Region (-7.4%), Ceará (-8. 9%), Pernambuco (-4.2%), Bahia (-4.3%), Santa Catarina (-7.9%), Rio Grande do Sul (-3.0%) and Mato Grosso (-6. 5%).

In the global average, the national industry advanced 0.9% in November 2022 compared to November 2021.
