Industrial production increased in 10 of the 15 locations surveyed from November to December 2022, according to data from the Monthly Industrial Survey – Regional Physical Production, released this Friday (10) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).
In São Paulo, the country’s largest industrial park, production fell by 1.2%. In the national aggregate, industrial production had zero variation in December compared to November 2022, as revealed by the IBGE last week.
According to the IBGE, the most accentuated expansions were in Mato Grosso (5.8%) and Amazonas (5.6%), with both marking the second consecutive month of growth in production, a period in which they accumulated gains of 8.9% and 5.8%, respectively.
Ceará (4.3%), Paraná (3.9%), Pernambuco (2.7%), Rio Grande do Sul (1.0%), Rio de Janeiro (0.8%), Santa Catarina (0. 7%), Northeast Region (0.6%) and Pará (0.5%) completed the set of places with positive indexes in December 2022.
On the other hand, in addition to São Paulo, Espírito Santo (-6.8%) and Minas Gerais (-4.9%) showed the most intense reductions in that month, with the first place eliminating the growth of the previous month (7.3 %) and the second, interrupting two consecutive months of expansion in production, a period in which it accumulated gain of 3.8%. Goiás (-3.7%) and Bahia (-0.6%) showed the other negative results in December 2022.
