Industrial Production Price Index decreases 0.6% in November

The prices of products made in Canada, measured by the Industrial Products Price Index (IPPI), declined 0.6% in November, data released by Statistics Canada on Tuesday showed. In October there had been a fall of 0.4%.

The report highlights that the Commodity Price Index it rose 0.6% in November.

“Prices for energy and petroleum products rose 4.0%,” the publication read. This increase was mainly due to an 8.2% increase in the price of diesel and biodiesel fuels.

Market reaction

USD / CAD rose slightly after this report and was trading around 1.2760 / 65, just shy of Monday’s close.
