The Industrial Entrepreneur Confidence Index (ICEI) advanced three points in September 2022, to 62.8 points, the highest level of confidence since August 2021, the National Industry Confederation (CNI) said on Tuesday ( 13). This is the second consecutive month that industry confidence has advanced.
“By remaining above the 50-point dividing line, the indicator shows that the industry remains confident”, points out the CNI
In the assessment of CNI’s Economic Analysis manager, Marcelo Azevedo, the improvement in September was significant in all components of the index: current conditions and expectations, both for the Brazilian economy and for the companies themselves.
“The improvement occurs mainly in the component related to the Brazilian economy, which grew 5.9 points. But there is also a better assessment in relation to the industries themselves”, explains Azevedo
The Current Conditions Index advanced 4.2 points and stood at 58.4 points in September 2022. As it moved further above the 50-point dividing line. For the confederation, the indicator shows that entrepreneurs perceive a stronger and more widespread improvement in current conditions compared to the last six months.
The Expectations Index also rose in September 2022. The rise was 2.4 points to 65.0 points. The increase demonstrates, according to the CNI, an even stronger and more widespread optimism in the industry for the next six months.
