Then it was a mystery if this option will appear on other Samsung smartphones, but now, with the release of a software update, this feature has appeared on two more smartphones – not only on the relatively inexpensive Galaxy A52, but also on the premium Galaxy Z Fold 3 (which 12 GB of physical RAM). This was noticed by the SamMobile edition.
The RAM Plus function is similar to the paging file in Windows – this option reserves space on the drive and, if necessary, uses it as virtual RAM (when there is not enough physical memory). However, in practice, such an idea often does not justify itself: firstly, the drive (virtual RAM) is significantly slower than the physical RAM; secondly, the operating system avoids filling up temporary memory and prematurely closes background processes, and third-party firmware (including Samsung’s One UI) makes this even more intense.
The innovation cannot be configured – it can either be turned on or off. The amount of virtual memory is always fixed (at least for now) – 4 GB.
