Infiniti QX60 of the second generation has become more solid and received an automatic instead of a CVT

Infiniti, the premium sub-brand of Japanese auto giant Nissan, has unveiled the second generation of its popular QX60 crossover. The updated three-row crossover is in many ways similar to its predecessor, but at the same time it received a number of improvements that were made taking into account the wishes of customers.

The brand has made the appearance of the updated Infiniti QX60 more solid and classic with elements of minimalism. The designers abandoned the S-shaped rear roof pillars in favor of stricter elements, raised the line of windows, and made the hood less embossed and already installed a panoramic glass roof in the base. Changes were made to the interior of the new crossover. So, it became more spacious, received an entertainment multimedia system with a 12.3-inch touchscreen and support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay already in the base, as well as improved noise isolation and a few more innovations. As options, the captain’s seats in the second row, a Bose audio system, three-zone climate control, a display instead of the usual rear-view mirror and adaptive cruise control with automatic car hold in the lane function are offered.

If we talk about the dimensions of the new crossover, then its wheelbase is still 2900 mm, but it has become shorter than its predecessor (5,034 mm versus 5,095 mm) and higher (1,770 mm versus 1,742 mm), and the ground clearance has increased by 5 mm up to 170 mm. The volume of the trunk with the third row of seats is 411 liters, without them – 1,178 liters, and if you fold the second row of seats, this figure will increase to 2,135 liters.

Under the hood, the new Infiniti QX60 has the same 3.5-liter direct injection V-6 petrol engine. Its power is 299 horsepower with 366 Nm of torque. True, now the motor company is not a CVT, but a classic 9-speed automatic transmission.

In America, sales of the new Infiniti QX60 will start at the end of this year. It will appear in Russia, albeit a little later than in the United States. Prices have not yet been disclosed, but the first generation of this crossover is now on sale in the Russian market from 3.6 million rubles.
