The Consumer Price Index – Weekly (IPC-S) recorded a variation of 0.26% in the first four weeks of October, accumulating a high of 4.60% in the last 12 months, said the Brazilian Institute of Economics of the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV). /Ibre) this Monday (10).
Six of the eight classes of expense that make up the index registered an increase in their rates of change. The largest contribution came from the Transport group, whose rate went from -2.63% in the fourth four weeks of September 2022 to -2.20% in the first four weeks of October 2022.
“In this category of expense, it is worth mentioning the behavior of the gasoline item, whose price varied -7.89%, compared to -8.68% in the previous edition of the IPC-S”, says the institution in a press release.
The Food (-0.29% to 0.13%), Housing (0.40% to 0.55%), Miscellaneous Expenses (0.04% to 0.13%), Clothing (0.38% to 0.52%) and Health and Personal Care (0.59% to 0.65%).
“In these expense categories, it is worth highlighting the behavior of the items: vegetables (1.21% to 3.66%), residential water and sewage fees (0.21% to 1.07%), telephone repair cell phones (-0.32% to 0.83%), watches and jewelry (-0.25% to 0.25%) and hygiene and personal care items (0.49% to 0.75%)”.
With a decrease in the rate of change, comes the Education, Reading and Recreation group (4.36% to 4.31%), in which the newspaper item stands out (2.98% to 2.32%).
