Inflation in the city of SP advances 0.02% in the 1st quadrissemana of August, shows IPC-Fipe

The Consumer Price Index (CPI), which measures inflation in the city of São Paulo, had a marginal increase of 0.02% in the first four weeks of August, decelerating in relation to the increase of 0.16% observed at the end of July.

The data were published this Tuesday (9) by the Economic Research Institute Foundation (Fipe).

In the initial reading this month, six of the seven components of the IPC-Fipe lost strength or increased deflation: Housing (from 0.37% in July to 0.14% in the first four weeks of August), Food (from 0.95% to .68%), Transport (from -2.70% to -2.74%), Health (from 1.00% to 0.98%), Clothing (from 0.95% to 0.84%) and Education (from 0.63% to 0.52%).

On the other hand, there was acceleration in the Personal Expenses category (from 0.52% to 0.65%).
