A couple of digital influencers from the interior of Minas Gerais were arrested last Wednesday (16) in an investigation into gambling. The shooting of a 21-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man took place in a luxury condominium in Serra, in the municipality of Espírito Santo. According to the Minas Gerais Civil Police, the two had fled to Maceió before leaving the city of Espírito Santo.
The investigation began at the 4th Civil Police Station in Juiz de Fora, hometown of one of the prisoners, after a suspicious movement of R$20 million in the accounts of those being investigated. The large amount would have come from earnings from the promotion of Jogo do Tigrinho.
According to the delegate in charge of the case, Márcio Rocha, the couple's luxurious lifestyle caught the attention of the authorities. Among the expenses, a trip to Dubai stands out, where the suspects bought a gold telephone. The action involved the search and seizure of objects, valued at around R$30 million, in addition to three luxury vehicles, with an estimated value of more than R$1 million.
The duo was charged with the crimes of promoting gambling and crimes against the popular economy and taken to the Police Station in Guarapari.
The operation, nicknamed Tyche, lasted six months, and had the support of the Organized Crime Combat Task Force and the Federal Highway Police. The name of the action refers to the Greek goddess of fortune, alluding to the original name of the famous game 'Fortune Tiger'.
