Milla Sofia, a digital influencer created by artificial intelligence (AI), has become yet another target of sexist and misogynistic comments in her publications on social networks.
On Instagram, where the robot-influencer has almost 52,000 followers, several photos created and set using technology are shared. In the profile, Milla describes herself as a 24-year-old “girl” and a resident of Helsinki, in the capital of Finland.
And even informing that it is not real, Sofia receives a flood of sexist comments and unusual requests such as marriage, for her to participate in Miss Universe or even sung by men who say they dream about her and that she is really “blessed”.
“How much does one of these robots cost?”, “Would you earn 1 million to leave the life of an influencer and be my wife?”, “You have everything Brazilians like and need”, are just some of the thousands of comments on their publications.
Unbelievable but not unheard of
Milla Sofia is not the first and will not be the last robot created by AI to suffer comments of this kind. Even companies from different segments that develop chatbots to help their customers deal with their solutions have already announced the creation of additional measures, after their technological assistants went through the same type of digital embarrassment.
The subject is so complex that not even the big techs, the large conglomerates of companies in the technology area, escape such situations, since there is confirmation of occurrences of this nature involving the already known Alexa, Siri and other virtual tools to support the user.
Useful but non-existent
It is important to remember that this type of tool does not necessarily have a defined genre, although it has a virtual appearance, a name and is of the “machine learning”. That is, the technology is programmed to help the user, being improved with each new situation or information added in its programming, no matter how humane, sexist or embarrassing they may be.
