Influencer Diego Friggi died, last Sunday (10), victim of a pulmonary embolism, while waiting for a place in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), in a hospital linked to a private health plan, in São José dos Campos (SP ).
As determined by CNN Diego was diagnosed with pneumonia and advised to treat himself with medication at home. Even so, the influencer did not improve and had to return to the health unit. The influencer’s condition worsened and he was hospitalized.
A few hours before his death, the family asked for prayers in an Instagram post.
In the publication, Diego’s girlfriend, Bruna Martins, wrote that, last Friday (8), the influencer was diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism and that he remained hospitalized and waiting to be transferred to the ICU.
However, Diego died last Sunday afternoon waiting for the vacancy.
In a note, the health plan company informed that the hospital was seeking a transfer to the Unified Health System (SUS), due to administrative issues “without causing any harm to the care provided to the patient.”
Furthermore, the company said that Diego “received all necessary medical and hospital assistance, with the application of appropriate care protocols by the medical and multidisciplinary team.”
Diego Friggi had 669 thousand followers on social media. He held raffle draws for luxury cars and motorcycles.

According to the Ministry of Health, pulmonary embolism, known as “pulmonary infarction” and “pulmonary thromboembolism” is a serious condition that begins when a thrombus (clot or emboli) located in one of the veins of the legs or pelvis becomes loose, blocking the arteries and vessels of the lung.
Due to difficulty breathing and lung damage, the amount of oxygen in the blood decreases and organs throughout the body can be affected, especially when there are several clots.
