Influencer is detained after breaking glass and injuring an employee at Arena Fonte Nova

The influencer and supporter of Esporte Clube Bahia, Ciro Alexandre Silva dos Santos, known as Ciro Alê, aged 40, was arrested last Sunday (8) after carrying out an episode of violence at Arena Fonte Nova, in Salvador (BA).

During a disturbance at the service counter, he broke the glass on the counter, injuring an employee with shrapnel. The Civil Police and the club are investigating the case, which generated great repercussions among fans and on social media this Monday (9).

The confusion began before the match between Bahia and Atlético-GO for the Brazilian Championship, when the fan’s mother, a 75-year-old woman, was denied access to the stadium because she had not completed the mandatory check-in for members.

According to Bahia, they were offered to purchase a discounted ticket to another sector, but the digital influencer, who has more than 34 thousand followers, refused the solution. Angered, Ciro punched the glass on the counter, causing damage.

In a statement released on social media, Bahia repudiated the fan’s attitude and reported that it had opened an administrative case against him, in addition to taking legal action to ensure that he faces criminal charges.

The club highlighted that the episode “tarnished the day of celebration for winning a place in the 2025 Libertadores” and reiterated that it does not tolerate violence or disrespect against employees.

The team also reinforced that it is providing support to the attacked employee. “Our club is made by people and for people, and everyone, whether members or employees, deserves to be treated with respect and dignity”, concluded Bahia in the official note.

In a statement, the civil police reported that, after the incident, both the employee and Ciro were taken to a health unit and later interviewed at the police station.

The influencer was released after providing clarification. The case remains under investigation by the Barris Territorial Police Station, which is investigating the crime of qualified damage to property.

Fan defense

Ciro Alê spoke out on social media and apologized for his attitude, but reported that the disagreement began due to the treatment given to his mother. According to him, the elderly woman was treated harshly by employees when she explained that she did not know how to check-in.

“Nothing justifies aggression, and I recognize that I was wrong. I lost my mind and reason,” said the fan.

He further claimed that he tried to check in with his mother in advance, but was unable to do so due to system failures. “I reaffirm that I did not intend to coerce, attack or offend anyone,” said Ciro.

See Bahia’s note in full:

“Yesterday, which should have been marked solely by the celebration of winning the place for the 2025 Libertadores, was unfortunately marred by a regrettable episode of violence. Before the start of the match against Atlético-GO, the member of Esporte Clube Bahia SAF, Ciro Alexandre Silva dos Santos, carried out an act of violence against a Club employee.

The associate threw a punch against the glass at the service counter, resulting in injuries to the attendant caused by shrapnel. The employee was promptly rescued and taken to medical care in a state of shock.

The attacker was taken to the Arena Fonte Nova police station to provide information about what happened.

The unjustified aggression, allegedly motivated by the fact that it was no longer possible to check-in his mother, with the attacker also refusing to purchase a discounted ticket to another sector, is completely incompatible with the standards of conduct expected of Club members.

Therefore, administrative proceedings will be initiated against Ciro Alexandre Silva dos Santos. Bahia will also take the appropriate legal measures to ensure that he is criminally liable for his actions.

The Club strongly repudiates any form of violence and expresses its solidarity with the attacked employee, and informs that it will provide all necessary support to the employee.

Finally, Bahia reiterates that it will not tolerate any type of aggression, threat or disrespect directed towards its employees. Our Club is made by people and for people, and everyone, whether members or employees, deserves to be treated with respect and dignity.”

“Nothing justifies aggression, and I recognize that I was wrong. I lost my mind and reason, but I would like to explain the context that led to what happened.

I was quite nervous, especially hearing my mother, a 75-year-old woman, being disrespected. She explained that she did not know how to check in due to her age, but was told, sternly, that she could not receive help with check-in, although it was possible to buy a ticket with a 50% discount. This left me confused and outraged: how come they can’t help with check-in, but can sell a ticket?

Furthermore, I had already tried to check her in 72 hours before, but the option didn’t even appear in the system.

When my mother explained that she couldn’t buy the ticket because she didn’t have the money, she received the answer: “It’s your problem.” At that moment, I ended up overdoing myself.

Thoughtlessly punching the booth while saying: “It’s not your problem, respect her, please.” Unfortunately, I accidentally hit the glass and the glass broke.

I reaffirm that NOTHING JUSTIFIES VIOLENCE AND MUCH LESS MY ATTITUDE. I did not intend to coerce, attack or offend anyone! I apologize for my behavior and reiterate my respect for everyone involved.”
