Influencer Isabel Veloso explains that she is no longer a terminal patient

Pregnant with her first child, the influencer Isabel Veloso 18, a young woman who went viral on social media after revealing she had terminal cancer, explained, this Tuesday (27), that she no longer has a set time left to live and that she is now just in palliative care status . In March of this year, she announced a prognosis of six months.

“My illness was terminal due to a predicted life expectancy date and I wasn’t sure if the disease would stabilize. But it has now stabilized,” explained Isabel Veloso on Instagram stories. Despite this, she says she still has “no vision of a cure for the disease” and, because of this, remains in palliative care.

“A person in a palliative state can live with an incurable disease and have no expected date of death. This does not mean that I cannot have a progressive worsening of the disease in a few months or weeks. It means that I I have an indefinite life span . Only God can say how much time I still have,” he emphasized.

According to the National Cancer Institute (INCA), palliative care refers to care for serious, progressive illnesses that threaten the patient’s continued life. Its objective is to “promote the patient’s quality of life through prevention and relief of suffering, early identification of treatable situations, careful and thorough assessment and treatment of pain and other physical, social, psychological and spiritual symptoms.”

They are not only involved among terminally ill patients and, in some cases, may be associated with treatment aimed at curing the disease.

In her stories, Isabel Veloso also explained that she has been missing from the internet because she is “tired of ridiculous comments” about her illness.

The influencer also commented on the criticism she received after announcing that she was pregnant. “I waited a while to tell you, to see if my body would handle it and if everything would go well, and then I came to tell you. My dream is to be a mother, I don’t just want to carry a child.”

Isabel has cancer since the age of 15. In March of this year, the girl posted that doctors had given her just a few months to live. “This time, cancer has succeeded. I just hope that these next and last 6 months are the happiest and most sincere in our hearts,” she posted on Instagram.
