Digital influencer Pedro Lopes, known as ‘Lokinho’, was arrested this Wednesday morning (9) during the 2nd phase of Operation Dirty Game, launched by the Public Security Secretariat of Piauí.
The operation aims to combat the spread of illegal gambling on the internet and investigates crimes such as embezzlement, money laundering and criminal association.
In addition to ‘Lokinho’, six other people were arrested during the action, which carried out 30 warrants, 8 for temporary arrest and 22 for search and seizure, in Teresina (PI), Timon and Caxias (MA).
The warrants were directed to digital influencers involved in promoting these games, according to the Piauí Public Security Secretariat.
The operation was conducted by the Police Station for Repression and Combating Computer Crimes (DRCI) with support from the Superintendency of Integrated Operations (SOI), Integrated State Public Security Force (FEISP) and Military Police.
All seven detainees were taken to the headquarters of the Public Security Secretariat, where they await developments in the case. THE CNN tries to contact Pedro Lopes’ defense.
