Influencer Igor Viana, 24, suspected of diverting donations to his paralyzed daughter and committing crimes of discrimination against people with disabilities, child embarrassment and mistreatment, was released on Tuesday night (3).
Igor Viana was preventively arrested on August 2nd of this year, in Goiânia. The digital influencer and the child’s mother are suspected of fraud and embezzlement of funds from a disabled person. The case has been under investigation since June.
The request for Igor’s arrest was accepted by the court, but the request against his mother was denied. In addition, the couple allegedly obstructed the investigation, according to the Civil Police.
“There was no reason for Igor’s preventive detention, since [ele] was not indicted or reported and collaborated with the entire investigation,” said the influencer’s defense lawyers.
According to the lawyers, the Civil Police requested Igor’s preventive arrest four times. The first three requests were denied due to the lack of requirements for preventive arrest.
“The fourth representation for preventive detention was met and [ele] was arrested preventively, even without the conclusion of the Police Investigation”, said the defense.
In a note, the defense emphasized that it hopes that from that moment on, “the investigations will continue in an impartial and technical manner, without the inquiry being used for media exposure”.
THE CNN contacted the Court of Justice of Goiás, which stated that the case is under judicial secrecy.

Digital influencer Igor Viana mocked military police officers and jokingly imitated the mannerisms of his 2-year-old daughter, who has cerebral palsy, according to guardian Grazielle Ramos.
The counselor visited the family home in Anápolis to remove the child from her parents’ home in June of this year. In addition, Igor allegedly made jokes about his daughter’s illness in the presence of the counselor.
“He even imitated the disabled child, he said the whole time that what I did was a favor to him, because now he will be famous and always with a lot of mockery”, said Grazielle.
