Infrastructure delivered 43 works completed in the 1st semester, says minister

The Minister of Infrastructure, Marcelo Sampaio, informed that the ministry delivered 43 works completed in the first half of this year. The list of assets includes the restructuring, restoration and duplication of highways and the renovation and expansion of airports.

According to data from the ministry, in the first half of the year, 5 assets were granted on the stock exchange, with an investment forecast of around R$ 12.5 billion. In addition to concessions for a highway, with a forecast of R$ 11.3 billion in investments.

In the port sector, investments totaled R$ 1.2 billion, as a result of three leased terminals and the privatization of Companhia Docas do Espírito Santo (Codesa). The renewal of the MRS concession involves investments of around R$ 20 billion.

The data for the first half of this year were presented by the Ministry of Infrastructure this Thursday (30th) at an event held at the headquarters of the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT), in Brasília.

During his speech, the minister informed that, so far, the goal is to surpass the works completed last year, which totaled 108 assets. He pointed out that the folder has already executed 84.68% of its budget. In 2021, 99.97% were executed.

The ministry team also highlighted some of the actions carried out in recent months. Among them, the edition of the presidential decree that allows the merger of the companies Valec and EPL and the approval of the Provisional Measure for Simple Flight, now converted into law.

Road project auctions

The Minister of Infrastructure stated that the forecast is to hold auctions for three road projects by the end of this year. The expectation is that public notices for nine road projects will be published in 2022.

From 2019 to 2022, 196 projects were delivered, including completed works of public structures, such as duplication of strategic corridors. Seven highway concessions were also carried out, totaling R$ 48.8 billion in investments.

The National Secretary of Civil Aviation at the Ministry of Infrastructure, Ronei Glanzmann, estimated this Thursday that 50 airports should be granted to the private sector by the end of the year. Among the terminals is Congonhas airport, in São Paulo, which will be offered in the 7th round of concessions, scheduled for August 18.

“We have 34 airports already granted, but by the end of the year we will hit the mark of 50, as we have the 7th round on the street, which is 15 airports, and we have a re-bidding that is ready to go, from São Gonçalo do Amarante (RN). We are finalizing the last details with the Federal Audit Court”, said the secretary, at the event to present the balance sheet for the first half of the year.

According to data from the ministry, the 34 airports already granted in the last two rounds represent R$ 10.1 billion in investments throughout the contracts. According to the secretary’s expectations, this value should rise to R$ 18 billion considering the concession of 50 airports, estimated by him. “It’s disruptive, we see our airports improving,” he said.
