A party in style, full of famous guests and, above all, crowned heads: the party for the 18 years of Ingrid Alexandra of Norway, second in line of succession to the throne after his father Haakon, promises to be spectacular.
The celebrations will begin on Thursday 16 June, but the highlight will be Friday 17, when the elite of the European aristocracy will gather in Oslo. In honor of the princess, a gala dinner will be held at the Royal Palace, at which others will also participate queens of tomorrow. From Holland, for example, the princess is expected Catharina Amaliathe same age as Ingrid, from Belgium the princess Elizabethand from nearby Sweden the princess Estelle. There will be, however, Leonor of Spainin Wales for study reasons, but his father will come in his place, Felipe VI. And waiting for the first official photos is already going crazy toto tiara: what will be the jewel chosen by the princess to make his debut as heir to the throne? According to Trond Norén Isaksen, historian and great expert on Norwegian royals, Ingrid would have found the Boucheron Pearl Circle Tiara among his birthday gifts. It is a very precious piece, purchased at the Exposition Universelle in Paris in 1900. In platinum and diamonds, it was later embellished with a series of pearls. No official confirmation, however, has yet been leaked, and the (right) suspense remains awaiting the party.
Ingrid Alexandra had to wait a while to enjoy this special moment. Princessindeed, he turned 18 on January 21st, but due to the limitations due to Covid-19, it was preferred to move the party to a more peaceful moment.
In the meantime, she is studying as a queen and seems already well advanced. “I learn from my grandfather and my father, from what they do and what they say”, he recently told in an interview with the public broadcaster NRK. And his grandfather Harald is his main model. A prince who defied conventions by marrying a normal woman, Queen Sonia, and who with his determination gave a significant boost to the modernization of the monarchy, so much so that the son married a woman who at the time of the wedding was already a mother .
Ingrid will be the master of making equally free choices. For now, when it comes to matters of the heart, she already knows how to protect her privacy: “I think it’s part of my private life and it’s important that it stays that way”always answered a NRK when asked if she had a boyfriend. The basics are great. The future still to be written.
