Initial jobless claims drop to three-month lows

The Department of Labor reported that initial claims for unemployment benefits they fell by 111,000 in the week ending February 20 to 730,000. The data was better than the market consensus of 838,000. It was the lowest reading in three months.

Regarding orders continued A drop of 101,000 was reported in the week ending February 13, to 4,419,000, the lowest level since the start of the pandemic. As with the initial orders, the numbers beat the average analyst expectations of 4.47 million.

Along with this report, GDP growth figures and the report of durable goods orders were released. The economic figures did not have an impact on the market. The dollar it was unchanged, with the DXY trading at month-low lows.
