Initial report does not find a cause of the death of young people in Rio de Janeiro

The preliminary report made by the Legal Medical Institute (IML) of Rio de Janeiro did not find the Cause of the death of the young Dayane de Jesus, 22 years old . According to the head of the 12th DP (Copacabana) Ângelo Lages, complementary reports will be issued. Police requested histopathological and toxicological examinations.

The International Relations student at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) was ill inside a gym in Copacabana, in the South Zone of Rio, on the night of last Tuesday (20). She was rescued by other visitors. One of them is a doctor and would have asked the defibrillator, but was informed that the place did not have the device.

The Civil Police are investigating whether there has been omission by the academy, as there has been a law since 2021 that obliges every academy or training unit of the state of Rio to have portable and professional defibrillator capable to provide relief.

Police also want to know if Dayane had a history of heart problems. The inquiry awaits the complementary exams to clarify whether any pre -existing factor may have contributed to the sudden illness.

Images from the gym’s internal circuit show the young woman apparently in normal, standing, stirring on her cell phone. Then she sits on the bench of one of the devices and then faints.

The Form Fitness Academy, where the case happened, was banned by the Civil Police on Wednesday (22). In a note published on social networks, the Formatness Academy mourned the student’s death, but did not clarify the absence of the defibrillator.
